Description

Our client is looking for an experienced maths teacher to deliver sessions to learners aged 16+

Key Tasks:

  • Plan and deliver exciting lessons supporting learner progression
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding (CPOMS), following the behaviour policy to report any detrimental actions
  • Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS
  • Track learner progression on the allocated Google Sheet/Docs/Classroom                       
  • Use a range of assessment methods and provide prompt feedback to inspire learners
  • Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate
  • Undertake in-house training to stay up-to-date with awarding body expectations and embrace external professional development opportunities
  • Attend mandatory line management and team meetings regularly
  • Contact guardians regarding learner progress through phone calls/emails and parents’ evening
  • Find innovative and effective ways to prepare learners for examination

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)
  • Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area
  • L5 teaching qualification preferred – relevant experience will be advantageous
  • Extremely organized and motivated, able to manage your own workload effectively and flexibly
  • Proven outstanding teaching and communication skills, with an understanding of the Ofsted framework
  • Ability to make the subject matter and time in the classroom interesting and engaging
  • Solution-focused, able to respond to data trends
  • Assertive and confident in learning environment management
  • Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in teaching Functional Skills Maths (E3-L2), GCSE Mathematics, and Core Principles Mathematics (Level 3)
