ROLE PURPOSE
The Learning & Development Advisor is responsible for all day to day aspects of the Apprenticeship Programme taking place at, or involving, the Apprentices place of work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring all components of apprentice progress and provide pastoral care.
Support and mentor apprentices to ensure each reaches their maximum potential and that the apprentices’ wellbeing is always paramount.
Advising, coaching, and developing the employers understanding of their training commitment, responsibilities, and obligations, ensuring that all employers are fully briefed so that they understand their commitment to provide the appropriate training, mentoring and work experience as required as well as their duty to facilitate the required off-the-job training.
Identify and report any factors that may put a learner at risk of not achieving their learning aims, using the correct process and guidance notes as provided by our clients.
Identify and report any factors that may impact on an employer’s ability to fully support their apprentice/potential apprentice in achieving their learning aims, using the correct process and guidance notes as provided by our clients.
Work with all parties involved with the training and support of the learner to ensure that all support requirements are met in order to achieve all their learning aims.
Ensure processes for booking and carrying out Learner/Employer visits remote visits, careers events, selection tests etc. are followed, and all activities are fully and accurately recorded and diarised in line with the organisations company policies and procedures.
To act as the main communication point to link apprentices, mentors, training centres, and employers in the coordination of apprenticeship delivery.
Complete and return all relevant documentation, either paper based or electronic, within company procedural timelines.
Ensure all documentation is completed fully, following all guidelines in accordance with company policy and returned by the prescribed method to the correct department/person(s).
Contribute to process of continual improvement.
Manage all process and administration requirements in accordance with company procedures in support of employers, mentors & apprentices.
Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of the organisations offer to employers, apprentices, commercial delegates etc. along with possible costs and key contacts.
Actively promote and identify apprenticeship placement opportunities with both employers who have not been involved in apprenticeships previously and from repeat business including discussing the benefits of our clients to any potential new employers.
Attend careers events/shows to promote and provide students, schools, and parents with the most up to date and relevant information concerning apprenticeships.
Participate in the full recruitment process, including telephone interviews, initial assessment, and candidate interview, ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed in full and returned within the prescribed timeframes, where required.
Complete effective timely learner progress reviews in line with company policy, Ofsted and AELP guidance.
Ensure apprentices are completing the appropriate off the job training task sheets and e-learning in a timely manner.
Complete timely competence assessments/reviews in accordance with the requirements of awarding organisation(s) monitoring Apprentice Attributes and behaviours.
Support apprentices to ensure they are ready to sit gateway and End Point Assessments.
Participate fully in the quality assurance activities of the approved centre, including internal and external verification/audits.
Maintain accurate and up to date apprentice records for all allocated apprentices and update reporting details ensuring consistency between Learning & Development Adviser records and learner data stored in our clients data Management/recording systems.
Actively promote Equality, Diversity and inclusion in accordance with our clients policy to ensure compliance and that no individual is discriminated against.
Actively support company policy and best practice in security, with particular emphasis on protection of customer sensitive information (GDPR legislation).
Actively promote the organisation and client interests during company visits and careers events.
Actively promote a safe and clean working environment. Carry out regular periodic health & safety and welfare checks in the learner’s workplace in accordance with current Safeguarding and Health & Safety legislation and policy.
Actively support and promote the work of the Functional Skills & Learner Support Services department.
Together with the Learner Support Services Team, contribute to the embedding of English and Maths within the apprenticeship programme.
Participate in the work of the training facilities through attendance at meetings and forums, contributing to specific development projects and activities to promote the apprenticeship and commercial programmes.
Monitor and encourage commercial delegates progress on their educational program and qualification guidelines.
Keep up to date with technical and academic knowledge.
Report any driving endorsements or points added to your driving licence.
Promote efficient use of resources with emphasis on maximising company vehicle MPG and reducing the detrimental effects of transport on the environment.
Maintain personal CPD by attending/completing all training as required.
Maintain personal CPD logs and upload as prescribed.
Actively follow up any unresolved issues with Line Manager in a timely manner.
Comply with the our clients Health and Safety Policies.
