- Our client is a membership organisation focused on bringing together government, employers, training providers, colleges and universities to deliver industry needs. We work collaboratively across the transport industry and key stakeholders to provide awareness, advice, and support for members to enable them to help build effective skills strategies.Our client are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to support businessgrowth by building a sustainable pipeline of opportunities as well as develop andmaintain collaborative working relationships with clients and members. This willinvolve identifying opportunities, taking ownership of bids from design to submission,working with key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:Work with the HMD to implement a customer relationship managementprogramme with member organisations and maintain accurate company CRM systemDevelop and grow existing accounts;Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with members and partners that add value and maximise member satisfactionBuild and manage your sales pipeline to secure new businessPrepare and submit sales proposalsArrange and attend meetings with prospects, making presentations includingdemonstrations of company products
Stay up to date on current market sector trends and feedback to the business.Support the development and delivery of member eventsEngage with members at events, seminars and working group meetingsCollaborate with colleagues to reach more potential customers and increasebrand recognitionOwn ultimate responsibility for successfully meeting or exceeding sales goalsTo undertake any other duties at the request of a manager which arecommensurate with this role.Essential attributes:Previous experience of business development and account managementknowledge and experience of vocational skills desirableDemonstrable track record of achievement in a commercial, client-facing roleWorking knowledge of CRM systemsCommercially aware with strong business acumenSelf-starter, motivated to identify potential business opportunitiesCapable of working under pressure and to time constraints, with the ability to create business proposalsAbility to network and establish relationships.
